Hôm nay, mình sẽ chia sẻ một bí quyết cực kỳ quan trọng trong IELTS Writing – đó là sử dụng từ nối (linking words) một cách linh hoạt và hiệu quả. Từ nối không chỉ giúp bài viết của bạn mạch lạc, logic mà còn là "vũ khí" giúp bạn ăn điểm tiêu chí Coherence & Cohesion dễ dàng hơn.

Dưới đây là list các từ nối theo từng mục đích sử dụng, kèm ví dụ minh họa để bạn dễ hình dung nhé!

1. Từ nối thể hiện sự bổ sung/thêm ý​

• Moreover, Furthermore, In addition, Additionally, Besides, Not only… but also…

Ví dụ:
"Fast food is often high in calories and unhealthy fats. Moreover, excessive consumption can lead to obesity and heart diseases."

2. Từ nối thể hiện sự tương phản​

• However, Nevertheless, On the other hand, In contrast, Conversely, Although/Even though

Ví dụ:
"Renewable energy is environmentally friendly. However, the initial installation cost can be quite high."

3. Từ nối thể hiện nguyên nhân – kết quả​

• Therefore, Thus, Consequently, As a result, Hence, Due to/Owing to

Ví dụ:
"Many species are losing their habitats due to deforestation. As a result, biodiversity is declining at an alarming rate."

4. Từ nối thể hiện ví dụ/minh họa​

• For example, For instance, Such as, To illustrate

Ví dụ:

5. Từ nối thể hiện thứ tự/trình tự​

• Firstly, Secondly, Finally, Subsequently, Meanwhile

Ví dụ:
"Firstly, education improves literacy rates. Secondly, it enhances employment opportunities."

6. Từ nối thể hiện kết luận/tổng kết​

• In conclusion, To sum up, Overall, In summary

Ví dụ:
"In conclusion, while technology brings many benefits, its overuse can negatively affect social interactions."

Lưu ý quan trọng khi sử dụng từ nối​

✔ Đừng lạm dụng: Dùng quá nhiều từ nối sẽ khiến bài viết gượng ép.
✔ Đa dạng từ vựng: Tránh lặp đi lặp lại một từ nối.
✔ Đúng ngữ cảnh: Mỗi từ nối có sắc thái riêng, cần dùng phù hợp.
